Wedding Suite Design
A&A
Year: 2025
Type: Student Project
Role: Graphic Designer, Writer, Printer
Brief: The goal for this project was to create a minimalist wedding suite, with the added challenge of not using any color at all. The finished package comprised of a Save the Date card, a Wedding Invitation card, and a Menu card, which are the essentials of any wedding suite. The cards were designed, typeset, printed, and photographed. These photos were then turned into mockups and social-media ready posts.
Process: I began by researching and brainstorming ideas for the aesthetic of the cards. Once I settled on the general vibe of the cards, I began drawing up sketches for the designs, and eventually settled on 1 set that I moved forward with. I then began iterating designs, and went through a surprising number of drafts before settling on my final version. After that, I started simultaneously font-shopping and writing the content for the cards, which was surprisingly challenging since information needed to be clearly relayed, while maintaining a low word count. After many font options, I settled on one and began to type-set the cards, which had to be done with precision since that was the only focal point of the suite.
After this step, I started paper shopping, and settled on a thick, 200 gsm water-color-like paper to provide a light texture to the cards. I made the decision to print in house, and then photographed the cards to create social media ready posts, which was the secondary part to this project. I decided on 3 photoshoots: a staged flatlay- a la wedding photography, an outdoor floral shoot, and a traditional product shoot. I then edited the photos, created mockups, and created a social media feed to promote the suite.
