Prompt: As the designer for a client’s event backdrop, I was tasked with creating an elegant composition featuring Arabic calligraphy of the names Fatema and Hussain. Inspired by the client’s appreciation for Chinese brush painting, I incorporated its expressive, fluid style into the calligraphy and designed a cherry blossom background to complement the aesthetic. The result was a harmonious blend of cultural influences, creating a visually striking and meaningful centerpiece for the event.

Process: The design process began with in-depth research into both Chinese brush painting techniques and the vertical styles of Arabic calligraphy. Through extensive practice and multiple iterations, I refined the calligraphy to achieve the desired fluidity and elegance. Once finalized, I shifted focus to the background, ensuring it complemented the calligraphic elements without overpowering them. In the end, the client chose to separate the two pieces and print them individually, allowing each to stand out while maintaining a cohesive visual connection.
